I have eaten here for over 4 years and have not found better service or fresher ingredients anywhere. My family will not go to other Chinese restaurants because they are used to Ho-Chows (and we drive down from Livermore!). ...?

My favorite Chinese Restaurant! I've had lunch there regularly at least twice a month for the past 2 to 3 years and have never been disappointed with the food. The way around the crowds at lunch is to make reservations. Service has ...?

Great Chinese food, a little too pricey for lunch but great for dinner. VERY slow service, so don't go if you are in a hurry. Hot and sour soup is one of the best around, nice and spicy. Good variety and lots of choices for meat eaters ...?

We tried their dine-in and pretty much all the items were tasty and portions were decent. Ambiance is decent enough for a restaurant of that sort. Recently, we tried their take-out menu and the service is super duper fast with huge portions. Not to mention, the prices are very cheap in their take out menu.

Not the greatest but ok. They did give a lot of food on the lunch special. However it was a little bland. I may try them again...might have been a bad day or something I don't know...

Very dissappointed. I used to frequent Ho Chow years ago and always remembered how delicious their food was. Stopped in recently and Wow, has the quality changed - both the service and food quality was horrible. Also, the place needs to be cleaned up and is in need of a makeover. While sitting at our table the place smelled like a dirty/moldy wash rag. The walls were filthy, not the Ho Chow I was once familiar with. Then the Server: Slow, Slow, Slow ! Worse the guy passed gas out load, twice tooted out load -- our table & the table next to us were astounded! Then the meal -- The Honey Walnut Prawns were delivered to our table *Cold*, the Mu-Shu pork wasn't the same either, the pancakes were not light like they used to be, they were dry and just not good. Needless to say we won't be going back. It's too bad as Ho Chow's was once a very, very good restaurant.

Although previous experience there was good (although I thought the place over-priced), I have to yelp it with just 2 stars b/c the Szechuan beef (however you spell it) was just tasteless. My guest was unimpressed with the combination fried rice, and I have to say it was pretty flavorless too.Atmosphere is upscale and fine for business meals, which is more than I can say for most other things in the area.ALSO: Wok City Diner (was nearby on Mission) and Brothers ( wason Wash Blvd near 680) both are *closed* now...so that leaves only China Chile as the choice for a place with a tablecloth in Fremont...well I hope I am wrong about that. Please advise.BTW, search for Thai as an alternative...Bangkok Thai is very nice and good food!

Ho Chow needs a makeover. It used to be one of the best Chinese restaurants 10 years ago - now not so great. The food portion is large, but the food quality has gone down. I have started calling ahead and ordering family package food to go.
